Thank you for being here

A quick update on me and Breezi (and happy holidays!)

Welcome to Easy, Breezi.

Your friend who sends you a weekly update on what she's working on, reading through, and thinking about – in a list. Before I dive in, I’m hosting a Goal Setting workshop on December 28th, at 3pm ET with my friend Avni from Gen She. I’m sharing the exact notion template I used this entire year, we have a few more spots left and I would love to see you there.

Here’s the thing

In January of this year, I applied to my dream job in NYC.

I didn't get it.

I also didn't have a back up plan.

The only other thing I had at that time was this idea for a consumer platform that had lived rent free in my head for five years.

Unfortunately, I had no money and no network to help me.

The one thing I had was experience in early stage companies.

The #1 thing I learned from working at multiple successful tech startups was you need to take action and put something tangible out in the world as quickly as possible.

Instead of brainstorming on the brand or mission - I started this newsletter.

My startup idea was a list-based social network

So writing a newsletter where the only content was lists was my version of an MVP.

Over the last year, I grew this newsletter to 2,500+ subs, with a 70% open rate and average 11 replies per send.

But that's not all.

Through Easy, Breezi, I also:

  • Met the designer that designed the first prototype of my product

  • Built my 1,000 person waitlist in 3 days when I announced it

  • Learned what type of lists people engage highly with and used that to determine the wedge we're entering the market with

The tl;dr (in my usual list fashion duh):

  • Sometimes a "no" is the biggest blessing in disguise

  • Launching and shipping is always better than planning and brainstorming

  • Momentum grows exponentially, just start somewhere

One day, I’ll be able to tell the story of how the next big social platform was built off of a newsletter – and each one of you were part of it <3

As we wrap up the year, I wanted to send a quick Breezi update

Conner, Natalie and I going through user feedback

Conner, Natalie and I have been heads down on Breezi.

We are iterating on an MVP with a small group of beta testers with promising early results. I’m excited to continue experimenting with early core features and building out an AI-powered list discovery engine for our users as we scale.

If I could share one tip:

Make sure you are focused on product and distribution.

And do both with the same level of intensity and dedication. I think that is what propelled us to such quick growth and positive qual feedback – despite still being in beta.

Here are our favorite lists created on Breezi over the last few days:

This is exactly what I envisioned for Breezi:

  • A place to share your thoughts, ideas, experiences and more

  • Using lists as the atomic unit to organize and distribute information

  • Connect with others, build relationships and find what you need

We are just getting started!

If you want to see more as we build, make sure you’re following us on Instagram.

You’re invited to my exclusive Be Limitless - Goal Setting Workshop on December 28th, at 3pm ET

I know everyone is busy over the holidays and no one wants to jump on another zoom link BUT … I promise you this one is worth it.

This year has been crazy for me, I get asked all the time “how do you do it all” and now I’m showing you my exact blueprint.

We have a few spots left and I’d love to see you there: https://lu.ma/yatbxuou

What to look forward to in 2024

Seriously, thank you to everyone who is subscribed to this newsletter and part of my community. Starting next year, you’ll also get:

  • Exclusive guest interviews

  • Access to Breezi’s private beta

  • More events and in person events

I know the holidays aren’t an easy time for everyone so whatever this time of year means for you, know that I’m here and wishing you the best.

I'll be back next year with more lists!
